We are really excited to let you in on the planning and launching of our latest collaborative dinner series with Klippers Organic Farm

We will co host several long table dinners in The Similkameen Valley over the summer featuring chefs from the Vancouver area. Each chef will cook a meal using ingredients from the farm, paired with a local winery.  

The Similkameen Valley is an up and coming destination area, with stunning scenery, a number of award winning wineries, and an abundance of great organic produce.

Klippers Farm Dinner Series 2.0

FEATURING FARMERS APPRENTICE & ROBIN RIDGE WINERY.

We are really excited to let you in on the planning and launching of our latest collaborative dinner series with Klippers Organic Farm

We will co host several long table dinners in The Similkameen Valley over the summer featuring chefs from the Vancouver area. Each chef will cook a meal using ingredients from the farm, paired with a local winery.  

The Similkameen Valley is an up and coming destination area, with stunning scenery, a number of award winning wineries, and an abundance of great organic produce. We are super excited to pair up with The Farmer's Apprentice for this dinner! Their restaurant has trail blazed the way in Vancouver making fine dining techniques both affordable and approachable. 

Born and raised in Edmonton, Douglas King started his cooking career at legendary chef Daniel Boulud's "Lumiere" restaurant in 2008 under Chef Dale Mackay. 

In 2012, after four years with Mackay, He moved on to Adam Pegg and Lucais Syme's celebrated restaurant "La Quercia". 

A year later he joined the team at David Hawksworth's "Hawksworth" restaurant before becoming sous chef at David Gunawan's "Farmer's Apprentice" in 2014.

In 2015 King was named as Chef de Cuisine of "Farmer's Apprentice", a role that has allowed him to showcase his contemporary cooking style that is rooted in a passion for organic and biodynamic farming, sustainable seafood, and natural wines.

Craig Scherer
Executive Chef, Trattoria Burnaby

A Canadian Prairie boy with a penchant for pasta and spicy garlic, Chef Craig Scherer fuses love of the great outdoors with passion for culinary creation.

Born and raised in Alberta, Craig began his culinary arts education at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). He supplemented his education with hands-on experience, working with the Calgary Flames and the SAIT catering departments. Upon graduating, he held positions in kitchens near and far. From Calgary's popular SaltLik Steakhouse and Crush Restaurant & Lounge to Bermuda's Fairmont Hotel Italian-concept restaurant, Bacci.

His well-earned Italia-style kitchen experience, led Craig to join the vibrant team at Vancouver's Italian Kitchen in 2010. The forward-looking chef evolves his skills through experimentation and learning from others. Now leading the team at Trattoria Burnaby as Executive Chef, creating new dishes and putting unique twists on traditional ones are a steady source of professional reward. On his days off, Craig frequents Vancouver's cornucopia of Farmers' Markets, meeting with local producers and sourcing fresh ingredients and inspiration. Gregarious, passionate and modest, Craig always goes above and beyond for guests through meals to remember.


Ryan Gauthier

In his role as Corporate Chef for Glowbal Restaurant Group, Ryan Gauthier oversees menu creation for all restaurants in the collection, including Glowbal Grill, COAST Restaurant, Italian Kitchen, Trattoria Italian Kitchen, Black+Blue, The Fish Shack, The Roof,  Trattoria Park Royal and Trattoria Burnaby.   In addition, Ryan acts as a mentor, offering guidance, support and experience, to his fellow chefs.

Ryan has had the opportunity to work with such notable chefs as Robert Byford, Tim Muellbauer, Kathleen O’Connor, and Bryan Fowke, and the training he received from each one has proven invaluable. He is passionate about his career and knows he is following his true calling. “Being able to have a job in which you make people feel good is very rewarding and I hope guests enjoy their meals as much as I enjoy creating them.”

FARMACIE | feed your skin workshop

Self care, self love, self promotion, self devotion to enhance stronger communities.

FARMACIE is excited to announce we will be hosting our very first #FEEDYOURSKIN workshop on May 10th at Eastwood Cycle . The intention is to bring awareness to the dangers of some conventional products and the chemicals they contain. We will have various experts and entrepreneurs both sharing advice as well as their own natural beauty and self care rituals. In true FARMACIE fashion this event isn't all about awareness but more focused around the promotion of some of the amazing local companies that are creating products with love, care, integrity and PLANTS.
